| I have been doing a study on prayer...and meditating on how prayer is involved in the work of building spiritual maturity in the people we are encouraging along in the faith. As I have been thinking on this I have been trying to develop a clear statement of a gaol to be reaching for as I disciple. Have you ever wrestled with that? Personally I want to see our students, our children, and those who are working with them, internalize the Gospel of Jesus Christ as their own vibrant, living, and dynamic faith. I want to see them get a hold of the truth and embrace it in such a way, that should any of us drift or walk away from the faith...they would continue to be faithful. How would you articulate your goal concerning discipleship? | | |
| I have been rebuked and so my humble heart appreciate the encouragement. Here is a new entry...This year I have been studying and working through what I can do to become more Christ like in my prayer life. I know the importance of prayer and have been a recipient of the faithful pray prayer warriors who are on their knees for this ministry, my family and for my self...yet the tierney of the urgent is always interfering with good intentions...Last year I made it a priority to pray for one hour a day with no interruptions. That discipline is now a very special part of every day...one that I look forward to with great anticipation and delight... What are you doing in the area of prayer? Lets share some ideas and encourage one another in this very key area of our lives as Christians... | | |
| This morning I was inspired to consider the impact of what we look at, has on our hearts, especially as male members of humanity. Ken Mueller has a great article , “The Viral World of Teen Entertainment” that would be a great read for all of us as we go about the work of helping one another to change and grow in the Christian life. Ric Garland also has a great discussion going concerning music standards…therefore I got the bright idea of starting a discussion concerning our standards for what we put before our eye. Ephesians 5:8 reminds us of the fact that we are to walk as children of the light, verse 15, drives it home further, “see then that you walk carefully, not as fools but as wise.” So hear is the question…what principles guide your choices of entertainment? What is the biblical frame work that helps you to stay on the narrow path? This will be a great way to encourage one another as we walk before our Heavenly Father and the world. | | |
| Check it out...pictures from this years West (best) Coast Word of Life camp. www.westcoastcamp.org... was it awsome?...lts share the Good hand of the Lord...How did the Lord work in your life?

| Yes camp is over for another year...but my heart is greatly encouraged as it was one of the greatest ever...great staff, great campers...seeing the Hand of God working in lives of everyone involved.
Some new recruits for next year already...even a new supporter coming forward asking to receive letters from our staff for next years support.
Some new born christians...because our God is bigger than never. One young boy was so over come by sin he was weeping in the arms of his counselor, a young man who not to long ago was a jr camper just like the boy he shared the Gospel with. Another young man dedicated his life to the Lord...was that ever a special night as his father told me the story with tears in his eyes...eleven years of praying for his son. Our God is bigger than never. 97 children and students making a profession of faith...so many stories...so many lives changed because our God is bigger than never! | | |
